WILL ANYONE BE SURPRISED?

Image
WORKOUT WEDNESDAY A Midweek Spiritual Workout with Fr. Marino H. Msigala,  O.F.M. Capuchin   WILL ANYONE BE SURPRISED? Others don’t know and can’t see what goes on inside: you: your thoughts, emotions, dreams, and motives. Nor can they “see” your inner commitment to Christ.  All they can see is your body and your behaviors—and they will judge what is inside you by what they see happening on the outside. A frown signals concern or disapproval; a smile signals gratitude or welcome; a clenched fist signals hostility or anger. Why does St. Paul tell us to “present our bodies as a living sacrifice”? The reason is simple: how we behave shows others what we are on the inside. We may claim to follow Christ, but if our actions tell a different story, people have a right to question our claim. Our dress, our speech, our habits—all should honor Christ. We must be “blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation.” (Philippians 2:15) ...

Capuchin   THE JESUS PRAYER   To live in the presence of God throughout the day, pray The Jesus Prayer:   “Lord, Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner.”   Pray this short prayer:   As an offering for a particular person or a prayer request.   As a way to distract your mind from temptation and raise it to God.   As a way to focus your attention when you feel anxious, worried, or upset.   On this  SPIRITUAL WORKOUT WEDNESDAY , pray The Jesus Prayer and make it your “go to” prayer in times of anxiety, worry, fear, or loneliness.
