WILL ANYONE BE SURPRISED?

WILL ANYONE BE SURPRISED?
Others don’t know and can’t
see what goes on inside: you: your thoughts, emotions, dreams, and motives. Nor
can they “see” your inner commitment to Christ. All they can see is your body and your behaviors—and they will judge what is inside
you by what they see happening on the outside. A frown signals concern or
disapproval; a smile signals gratitude or welcome; a clenched fist signals
hostility or anger.
Why does St. Paul tell us to “present our bodies as a living sacrifice”? The
reason is simple: how we behave shows others what we are on the
inside. We may claim to follow Christ, but if our actions tell a different
story, people have a right to question our claim. Our dress, our speech, our
habits—all should honor Christ. We must be “blameless and pure, children of God
without fault in a crooked and depraved generation.” (Philippians 2:15)
On this SPIRITUAL
WORKOUT WEDNESDAY, ask yourself whether your outer behaviors truly reflect
your inner beliefs. If Christ is in you, how do you reflect Him in your
behavior and actions? Do your family and friends recognize Christ in you?
Living inside you is a spirit that will live forever – in heaven or hell. It’s
your choice. It was once said that many of us will be surprised at the people we
see in heaven. Based on your words and behaviors, will anyone be
surprised to see YOU in heaven?
