THE SERENITY PRAYER

Image
WORKOUT WEDNESDAY A  Midweek Spiritual Workout with Fr. Marino H. Msigala, OFM Capuchin THE SERENITY PRAYER God, grant me the serenity To accept the things I cannot change. Courage to change the things I can. And wisdom to know the difference.   Living one day at a time, Enjoying one moment at a time Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace. Taking, as He did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it.   Trusting that He will make all things right if I surrender to His will. So that I may be reasonably happy in this life And supremely happy with Him Forever and ever in the next. ~ Reinhold Niebuhr, American Christian Theologian 1892-1971 On this  SPIRITUAL WORKOUT WEDNESDAY, consider the challenges you face each day. Offer them to God. Ask God for the serenity to accept what lies before you. Forgive and forget the past. Avoid worrying about the future—live in the present. Life is a gift. That’s why we call it the present. Unwrap each day

WORKOUT WEDNESDAY A Midweek Spiritual Workout with Fr. Marino H. God will not ask how big your house is; He will ask how many people you invited. God won't ask about the brand of clothes in your closet; He will ask how many others you helped to clothe. God won't ask how much money you made; He will ask if you shared it with others. God won't ask what your job was; He will ask if you did your job to the best of your ability. God won't ask how many friends you had; He will ask how many people considered you a friend. God will not ask where you lived; He will ask how you treated your neighbors. God will not ask about your skin color; He will ask how much love is in your heart. God will not ask why it took so long to seek Him; He will embrace you whenever you are ready to receive Him. WE EACH HAVE ONE OF OUR VERY OWN

WORKOUT WEDNESDAY A Midweek Spiritual Workout with Fr. Marino H. Msigala, OFM Capuchin   WE EACH HAVE ONE OF OUR VERY OWN Autumn brings with it the celebration of angels. We learn from Scripture, the writings of the saints, and the Catechism of the Catholic Church that we each have our own personal Guardian Angel. Youngsters in Catholic schools years ago might remember the nun’s caution to leave a little space on their seats so their Guardian Angel could sit beside them. As children, we were taught about angels as a comfort. But as we mature, we sometimes forget about our Guardian Angels. Angels are not only intercessors; they are mediators. God entrusts them with His divine power to act in His name and on His behalf, to deliver His grace, reveal His Truth, direct us down the right path, and protect us from evil. Though God is fully capable of distributing His grace Himself, it is His will that all He bestows upon us come to us through mediators who are instruments cooperatin

WORKOUT WEDNESDAY A Midweek Spiritual Workout with Fr. Marino H. Msigala,  OFM Capuchin LIKE MARY, GO WITH HASTE On September 8, we celebrated the Birthday of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and four days later, we honored Her Name Day. On September 15, we commemorated Our Lady of Sorrows. September focuses our attention on Mary and Her role in salvation history, the story of God’s plan to save humanity from sin and bring us to heaven. At the Annunciation, Mary immediately said yes to the angel and accepted Her role as the Handmaid of the Lord and the Mother of Jesus. This was big news, astonishing news, and very difficult to comprehend. But Mary, in humble faith and with great trust, said, “Yes.” When Mary learned that her older cousin, Elizabeth, was also expecting, her thoughts immediately turned to her.
