IF HE IS NOT HERE, WHERE IS HE?

The story of the empty tomb is a challenge even today for followers of Jesus. If He is not to be found among the dead, then where? 

Where indeed is the Risen Christ to be found? 

He is the unrecognized stranger who walks the road, opens minds and hearts, and breaks bread with those who have lost hope. 

He is the least among us, looking to us for food, drink, clothing, shelter, and compassion. 

He is the shepherd who cares for the helpless and the needy. 

He is the relative grieving the loss of a child, the single mother losing medical benefits, the children fearing deportation of a parent. 

He is the all too familiar spouse, child, or family member who looks to us for kindness and love. 

The Risen One is present when two or three gather in His name. He is among us when we open the Scriptures and tell the stories of God. And if our eyes are open, we will recognize Him in the breaking of bread.

Fr. Marino H. Msigala, OFM Capuchin was born in Kibakwe, Mpwapwa, Dodama Tanzania, Africa, on January 23, 1978. He was ordained to the Ministerial Priesthood on July 12, 2012, by Archbishop Gervas John M. Nyaisonga. Following his service as Pastor in his home country of Tanzania, Father was commissioned to the Capuchin Franciscan Province of St. Augustine in Pittsburgh, PA, where he was assigned studies and pastoral duty at Immaculate Conception Church in Dudley, PA. After he completed his Master's Degree at Villanova University, Father was reassigned to serve as chaplain and pastoral care at West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. He completed his ministry there and returned to Tanzania on May 7, 2024.

No one goes through life without experiencing fear. Fear contributes positively to defending (or at least warning) us against danger. However, if not managed, fear can weigh us down, knock us out, hold us back, destroy our peace of mind, force us to withdraw, and rob our hearts of happiness. Let us face our litany of human fears with the courage found in the power of prayer. Fear of failure. Fear of darkness. Fear of illness. Fear of rejection. Fear of discovery. Fr. Marino H. Msigala,  OFM Capuchin Born: January 23, 1978 Professed Solemn Vows: August 15, 2011 Transitional Diaconate: October 1, 2011 Ordained: July 12, 2012 Fr. Marino H. Msigala, OFM Capuchin was born in Dodama Tanzania, Africa, on January 23, 1978. Father has five brothers and five sisters. They include Laurian, Assunta, Yustina, Eda, Beatus, Renata, Janes, Selestino, Karol, and the late Neema/Grace. Father is the eighth of eleven children born to Herman Joseph Msigala and Roza Daniel Kiyanga, who celebrated more than sixty years of marriage in June 2022, surrounded by family and friends. Fr. Marino's father, Herman Joseph, entered into eternal life in his 92nd year, on December 19, 2022.
