TAKE A SECOND LOOK



Laziness kills ambition.

Anger kills patience.

Fear kills dreams.

Pride kills growth.

Anxiety kills peace.

Doubt kills confidence.

Selfishness kills generosity.

Cruelty kills kindness.

Despair kills hope.

Infidelity kills loyalty.

Hatred kills love.

Gluttony kills temperance.

Jealousy kills trust.

Negligence kills attentiveness.

Rudeness kills courtesy.


Now, take a second look,

And read again, right to left.

It pays to take a second look!


On this SPIRITUAL WORKOUT WEDNESDAY, when things get difficult, stop, breathe, and take a second look. The Lord has also taken a second look!

 


Fr. Marino H. Msigala, OFM Capuchin was born in Kibakwe, Mpwapwa, Dodama Tanzania, Africa, on January 23, 1978. He was ordained to the Ministerial Priesthood on July 12, 2012, by Archbishop Gervas John M. Nyaisonga. Following his service as Pastor in his home country of Tanzania, Father was commissioned to the Capuchin Franciscan Province of St. Augustine in Pittsburgh, PA, where he was assigned studies and pastoral duty at Immaculate Conception Church in Dudley, PA. After he completed his Master's Degree at Villanova University, Father was reassigned to serve as chaplain and pastoral care at West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. He completed his ministry there and returned to Tanzania on May 7, 2024.

No one goes through life without experiencing fear. Fear contributes positively to defending (or at least warning) us against danger. However, if not managed, fear can weigh us down, knock us out, hold us back, destroy our peace of mind, force us to withdraw, and rob our hearts of happiness. Msigala, OFM Capuchin NOVEMBER: MONTH OF REMEMBRANCE As we begin November, the month of remembrance, we pray in a special way for our loved ones who have gone before us. Our faith teaches that the Church is comprised of three states of being. The Church Triumphant in heaven, the Church Militant on earth, and the Church Suffering in purgatory. One of the most beautiful things about the Church is that it is the Body of Christ. Whether it’s the Church on Earth, Heaven, or Purgatory, it is all one Body, and it is all connected. Our ability to intercede for one another comes through our interconnection in the Mystical Body of Christ.
