WHERE IS GOD WHEN WE NEED HIM?

Although we know, and we believe that God is everywhere, sometimes we forget and think we are lost and that we have lost Him. The good news is that even when we think we have lost Him, He never loses us.

Oftentimes God is found in the most unusual circumstances and in very surprising places. In every human experience, it is possible to encounter the presence of God. Sometimes it requires silence. Sometimes it requires patience. Sometimes it requires stillness. God is here, there, everywhere. Tune in to God to turn on to His presence.

On the Spiritual Workout Wednesday, remember a time when you experienced God’s presence in a difficult relationship, in a failing, in loneliness, at work or in pleasure. Remember the comfort of knowing that despite the challenge you faced, God was with you through it all. If God brings you to it; He will bring you through it.

Fr. Marino H. Msigala, OFM Capuchin was born in Kibakwe, Mpwapwa, Dodama Tanzania, Africa, on January 23, 1978. He was ordained to the Ministerial Priesthood on July 12, 2012, by Archbishop Gervas John M. Nyaisonga. Following his service as Pastor in his home country of Tanzania, Father was commissioned to the Capuchin Franciscan Province of St. Augustine in Pittsburgh, PA, where he was assigned studies and pastoral duty at Immaculate Conception Church in Dudley, PA. After he completed his Master's Degree at Villanova University, Father was reassigned to serve as chaplain and pastoral care at West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. He completed his ministry there and returned to Tanzania on May 7, 2024.

Our faith teaches that the Church is comprised of three states of being. The Church Triumphant in heaven, the Church Militant on earth, and the Church Suffering in purgatory. One of the most beautiful things about the Church is that it is the Body of Christ. Whether it’s the Church on Earth, Heaven, or Purgatory, it is all one Body, and it is all connected. Our ability to intercede for one another comes through our interconnection in the Mystical Body of Christ.
