 The Seven Joys of St. Joseph

  1. The message of the Angel (Matthew 1:20)
  2. The birth of the Savior (Luke 2:10-11)
  3. The Holy Name of Jesus (Matthew 1:25)
  4. The effects of the Redemption (Luke 2:38)
  5. The overthrow of the idols of Egypt (Isaiah 19:1)

  7. The finding of the Child Jesus in the Temple (Luke 2:46)

 On this SPIRITUAL WORKOUT WEDNESDAY, select one of the sorrows or joys of St. Joseph and read the Scriptural verse that accompanies it. Know that St. Joseph shares in the sorrows and joys of your life. Go to him in your sorrows, and he will share your burden. Go to him in your joys, and he will bless you even more abundantly.

 


Fr. Marino H. Msigala, O.F.M. Capuchin was born in Kibakwe, Mpwapwa, Dodama Tanzania, Africa, on January 23, 1978. He was ordained to the Ministerial Priesthood on July 12, 2012, by Archbishop Gervas John M. Nyaisonga. Following his service as Pastor in his home country of Tanzania, Father was commissioned to the Capuchin Franciscan Province of St. Augustine in Pittsburgh, PA, where he was assigned studies and pastoral duty at Immaculate Conception Church in Dudley, PA. After he completed his Master's Degree at Villanova University, Father was reassigned to serve as chaplain and pastoral care at West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. He completed his ministry there and returned to Tanzania on May 7, 2024.

No one goes through life without experiencing fear. Fear contributes positively to defending (or at least warning) us against danger. However, if not managed, fear can weigh us down, knock us out, hold us back, destroy our peace of mind, force us to withdraw, and rob our hearts of happiness. Let us face our litany of human fears with the courage found in the power of prayer. Fear of failure. Fear of darkness. Fear of illness. Fear of rejection. Fear of discovery. LOSS, LOVE, GRATITUDE

Msigala, OFM Capuchin LOSS, LOVE, GRATITUDE During November, we mourn the loss of loved ones, but we also celebrate their lives and what they meant to us in our own lives. We are grateful for those who walked beside us and continue to do so even after they’re gone from our sight. We believe in the afterlife. We believe we will meet again. We mourn their loss, but we are thankful for the love we shared. Today, take a moment to think of family and friends who have gone before us.  On this Spiritual Workout Wednesday,  let’s pray for each one with special fervor and celebrate their lives in the knowledge that someday we will be together again.
