BEGIN THE REAL WORK OF CHRISTMAS

 



When the song of the angels is stilled

When the kings return to their kingdoms

When the shepherds return to their flocks

Then…

The work of Christmas begins:

To find the lost

To mend the broken

To heal the sick

To feed the hungry

To console the sorrowful

To release the prisoner

To include the marginalized

To love the unloved

To rebuild the nations

To nurture interior peace

To share peace with others

On this SPIRITUAL WORKOUT WEDNESDAY, begin the real work of Christmas today and continue throughout the new year.


Fr. Marino H. Msigala, OFM Capuchin was born in Kibakwe, Mpwapwa, Dodama Tanzania, Africa, on January 23, 1978. He was ordained to the Ministerial Priesthood on July 12, 2012, by Archbishop Gervas John M. Nyaisonga. Following his service as Pastor in his home country of Tanzania, Father was commissioned to the Capuchin Franciscan Province of St. Augustine in Pittsburgh, PA, where he was assigned studies and pastoral duty at Immaculate Conception Church in Dudley, PA. After he completed his Master's Degree at Villanova University, Father was reassigned to serve as chaplain and pastoral care at West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. He completed his ministry there and returned to Tanzania on May 7, 2024.

No one goes through life without experiencing fear. Fear contributes positively to defending (or at least warning) us against danger. However, if not managed, fear can weigh us down, knock us out, hold us back, destroy our peace of mind, force us to withdraw, and rob our hearts of happiness. Let us face our litany of human fears with the courage found in the power of prayer. Fear of failure. Fear of darkness. Fear of illness. Fear of rejection. Fear of discovery. LOSS, LOVE, GRATITUDE

WORKOUT WEDNESDAY A Midweek Spiritual Workout  with  Fr. Marino H. Msigala, OFM Capuchin LOSS, LOVE, GRATITUDE During November, we mourn the loss of loved ones, but we also celebrate their lives and what they meant to us in our own lives. We are grateful for those who walked beside us and continue to do so even after they’re gone from our sight. We believe in the afterlife. We believe we will meet again. We mourn their loss, but we are thankful for the love we shared. Today, take a moment to think of family and friends who have gone before us.  On this Spiritual Workout Wednesday,  let’s pray for each one with special fervor and celebrate their lives in the knowledge that someday we will be together again.
