PRAYER OF UNKNOWING


My Lord God, I have no idea where I am going.
I do not see the road ahead of me.
I cannot know for certain where it will end.
I don't really know myself, and just because I think I am following Your will does not mean that I am actually doing so.
 

But I believe that the desire to please You does, in fact, please You.
I have that desire in all that I am doing.
I hope that I will never do anything apart from that desire.
 

And I know that if I do this, You will lead me by the right road, though I may know nothing about it.
 
Therefore, I will trust You always, though I may seem to be lost and in the shadow of death.
 
I will not fear, for You are ever with me, and You will never leave me to face my perils alone.
 

You are my rock, my anchor, and my reassurance at all times, especially when I have no idea where I am going and cannot see the road ahead of me.

I trust in You.

 On this SPIRITUAL WORKOUT WEDNESDAY, let’s acknowledge those times when we just don’t know, those times of confusion and indecision when we feel lost and uncertain. Then, let’s remember whose we are and pray from the depths of our hearts, “Jesus, I trust in You.” 

Fr. Marino H. Msigala, OFM Capuchin was born in Kibakwe, Mpwapwa, Dodama Tanzania, Africa, on January 23, 1978. He was ordained to the Ministerial Priesthood on July 12, 2012, by Archbishop Gervas John M. Nyaisonga. Following his service as Pastor in his home country of Tanzania, Father was commissioned to the Capuchin Franciscan Province of St. Augustine in Pittsburgh, PA, where he was assigned studies and pastoral duty at Immaculate Conception Church in Dudley, PA. After he completed his Master's Degree at Villanova University, Father was reassigned to serve as chaplain and pastoral care at West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. He completed his ministry there and returned to Tanzania on May 7, 2024.

Msigala, OFM Capuchin NOVEMBER: MONTH OF REMEMBRANCE As we begin November, the month of remembrance, we pray in a special way for our loved ones who have gone before us. Our faith teaches that the Church is comprised of three states of being. The Church Triumphant in heaven, the Church Militant on earth, and the Church Suffering in purgatory. One of the most beautiful things about the Church is that it is the Body of Christ. Whether it’s the Church on Earth, Heaven, or Purgatory, it is all one Body, and it is all connected. Our ability to intercede for one another comes through our interconnection in the Mystical Body of Christ.
