FAITH IS THE ANSWER TO FEAR

Image
WORKOUT WEDNESDAY A Midweek Spiritual Workout with Fr. Marino H. Msigala, OFM Capuchin   FAITH IS THE ANSWER TO FEAR “Deep down, we are all afraid… Of suffering Of dying Of God’s judgment Of the unknown Of weakness Of our lives slipping out of our control Of not being understood Of not being loved   We sin because we fear. We bully because we are cowards. Faith casts out fear just as light casts out darkness. God has shone His light into our world. It is stronger than darkness.   That light is Jesus Christ.”                               ~ Peter Kreeft from his book Catholic Christianity On this  SPIRITUAL WORKOUT WEDNESDAY , reflect on Jesus, the light of the world. Know that His light is stronger than darkness. Bask in His light and let it shine through you to others. “You are the light of the world.” Matthew 5:14

I PRAYED; GOD ANSWERED

Image
WORKOUT WEDNESDAY A Midweek Spiritual Workout with Fr. Marino H. Msigala, OFM Capuchin   I PRAYED; GOD ANSWERED   I asked for strength, that I might achieve. I was made weak, that I might learn humbly to obey.   I asked for health, that I might do greater things. I was given infirmity, that I might do better things.   I asked for riches so that I might be happy. I was given poverty, that I might be wise.   I asked for power, that I might have the praise of men. I was given weakness, that I might feel the need for God.   I asked for all things that I might enjoy in life. I was given life that I might enjoy all things.   I received nothing that I asked for, but everything I needed. Almost despite myself, my unspoken prayers were answered. I am, among all, most richly blessed.   On this  SPIRITUAL WORKOUT WEDNESDAY , know that God answers every prayer even if it’s not exactly what was expected. God gives what is needed; not necessarily...

WORKOUT WEDNESDAY A Midweek Spiritual Workout with Fr. Marino H. Msigala, OFM Capuchin LET’S RETURN TO A VENERABLE TRADITION When we were school children, we learned about a venerable tradition called the First Friday Devotion. Maybe as adults, we have forgotten it or haven’t thought about it for a long time. June is the month of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and it is the perfect time to revisit the promise that Jesus made in an apparition to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque in France in 1674. “I promise you in the unfathomable mercy of My Sacred Heart that My omnipotent love will procure the grace of final penitence for all those who attend Holy Mass and receive Holy Communion on nine consecutive First Fridays of each month. My Divine Heart will be their sure refuge in the last moments of their life.” On this  SPIRITUAL WORKOUT WEDNESDAY , resolve to renew the First Friday Devotion in your prayer life beginning in July. DON'T JUST COUNT THE MINUTES; MAKE EVERY MINUTE COUNT

Image
WORKOUT WEDNESDAY A Midweek Spiritual Workout with Fr. Marino H. Msigala, O.F.M. Capuchin DON'T JUST COUNT THE MINUTES; MAKE EVERY MINUTE COUNT Every minute, someone leaves this world behind. We are all in “the line” without knowing it. We never know how many people are before us. We cannot move to the back of the line. We cannot step out of the line. We cannot avoid the line. So, while you wait in line – Don’t just count the minutes. Make the minutes count. Make memories. Make time. Make your gifts known. Make a nobody feel like a somebody. Make your voice heard. Make the change. Make peace. Make sure to tell your people they are loved. Make sure to have no regrets. Make priorities. Make small things big. Make someone smile. Make up.  Make a difference. Make sure you are ready. On this  SPIRITUAL WORKOUT WEDNESDAY , make every minute count.
